You know when you constantly stress over something and the stressing is what actually ends up being worse than the actual event? I think that's what's up with Christmas. I personally don't work myself up, but I think people get so stressed because they're so worried about everything going so perfectly that it really ruins the season for them. These past couple of days I've been doing my shopping and that's all for me, stress free environments are my favorite. The proper idea of Christmas is long gone, replaced with sleepless nights, it's so sad.
I realized a long time ago I am one of those people who will waste a good outfit "taking out the trash" or something obscene. It's called a waste simply because I don't repeat outfit combos so if that's what I wore all day in my house, you will not catch me wearing it next wednesday. This being said, I hate wasting a good outfit just to go to the mall cause hello, it's the freaking mall; however, my styling always has to be on because that's just the type of person I am and that's how I want to present myself. So I've been having difficulties dressing myself these days cause I don't like wasting outfits to simply take the trash out but at the same time it needs to be done. I've unfortunately seen quite a few of my classmates and I'm just like, I look so casual, yuck.

Leaving school was more bitter than sweet cause I didn't mind the work and I didn't really want to be home, so there you have it. It's funny, the only thing I was really looking forward to doing was being able to sleep and not worry about when I'd have to wake up. 'Tis all. A couple of days ago I had an interesting day though because I had time to reflect on my past when I visited my old high school. I know, I know, but you said you'd never go back! Well, it was alumni day and they sent a formal letter home and all that nonsense, my mother wouldn't allow me to refuse.
In any case, I got all dressed and prepared a short list of some high school lies to tell the children, "high school hardly counts, SATs are a lie and you never speak of them...ever, administration has always been a joke, your 'achievements' don't mean shit once you step on campus", and so on and so forth. Only to find out the crap was informal and it really wouldn't have made a difference if I went or didn't. I saw my old annoying teachers, only to get annoyed once again, all of my cool down-to-earth teachers in which I miss dearly. All of the events I went through and the talks I had with them made me realize a few things: I still hate high school, I still hate my old high school, and finally high school still and will continue to suck.

As I'm sure all of you saw, the last two posts I edited were just pictures. These were the last few outfits I wore as part one and part two helped to summarize the end of a very big chapter in my life. College itself is a significant change of scenery but the first semester will always be a vibrant memory I will hold onto for the rest of my life. I remember the first day of classes, as I'm sure you do also seeing as though y'all were right there with me as I informed you on how bored I was and how much I dislike Virginia ~see that present tense? haha ~ moving on to how I'd made friends, joined clubs and organizations, struggled with Geology, and tried to make every moment count. It went by incredibly fast. I can't believe I'm even talking about this shit like it's senior year but I do know it holds a great level of importance. Thank you all for sticking along for the journey with me and shalom to those of you who are just joining us. I am still attempting to love my school ~haaaaa impossible~ but I can say with so much honesty I am so very excited for Spring semester. I don't want freshman year to end, no matter my location, but I'm yearning to see what the future has in store for ya girl. In the meantime I shall enjoy this wonderfully long break. Love y'all to death.

* A lil' update: I am team #iPhone, officially! I used to despise Apple's phone quality but they've improved greatly over the years, and that excites me.
This past weekend was quite entertaining. I went to DC to celebrate a friends belated birthday. We went to my favorite spot, Nandos! They're food is so delicious! I ordered the veggie burger with Portuguese rice and fries. Great food. I may be a bit biased since they're based in South Africa ☺
I was able to get some good shots. I love all the sights in Chinatown. Even though, I have my internship in DC and have been in close proximity for quite a while, I will never stop acting like a tourist sometimes! It's a city filled so many sights and sounds. This past week has been a test of my faith within certain corners of my life. I am glad to have a good set of friends who have a strong head on their shoulders. I appreciate being surrounded by mature and positive people. It just does some things for your personal growth, ya know? Overall, I would say that my weekend was entertaining. Personally, I always find wholesome activities fun. With the end of the semester being this week, I will be studying and consumed with final exams. Therefore, you might see a decrease in my posting (if that's even possible, hahahaha). But until then!

And today I realized something. Well no, that's a lie. I re-realized something. In fact, it practically slapped me in the face today. I don't discuss my love life, cause of the lack of it, here ~no this was not my realization~ because it's just not something that interests me to discuss but I feel like if I do not include that in some way, you guys won't get the full gist of me and my strange persona. In any case, I don't date. I can say this with every fiber of my being because I know how rare this is nowadays and I know it's hard for some people, but for me it's quite easy. I don't do relationships, I don't like attachments, and I don't like labels. I am myself, not myself plus another. I'm too laid back for all of that baby-mamma drama and I despise seeing others fight and get themselves involved in such vile, energy-wasting stupidity.
So, today was interesting because I remembered how males can survive on double standards and how much of assholes they can truly be. What happened today wasn't even that insane, just a douche who's been occupying space in my phone decided to act up when I accidentally played him the same game he repeatedly plays me. It's so funny how dudes can switch on you so quickly and how I've known that from the beginning. Don't waste your time ladies. A lesson I learned from the mistakes of many, it's not worth it.

Seeing as though it is the last week of classes for the semester and next week is finals week, things are pretty hectic surrounding me. The funny thing is, I feel no pressure at all. This can be a good or bad things, but in my case I see it as a pretty good thing. I mean, I feel like all of the people complaining about having to pull all-nighters this week have really just been bullshitting this entire semester. I don't want to let my mom down because we're paying out of the arsenal to be here, I'm not going to waste my whole semester partying then freak out at the last moment. I think I'm not sweating anything because well, I've only needed to study for one class and since day one that's what I've been doing. I hope I'm in a good place!

I think I will try a new posting format with a picture of my clothing^ and the highlights of that day. Regrettably, it is just the beginning of my day so not much has happened. Except for that so regretful math quiz and an exciting morning workout. Also-- I am officially #teamiPhone! I really was just looking for another phone besides my prehistoric blackberry. They case also arrived today, and so I will be much more active. And I will still depend on my trusty digi cam, but I now have an iPhone to supplement that!
Here are some pictures that have just inspired me lately.
Obviously been inspired by more fall items!
